2010 CROP Walk
Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.

Did you know that…
* CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty?
* Church World Service raises money in over 2000 CROP walks across the country?
* 25% of the money raised here stays in our community, going directly to the T.I.M.E.S. Center, Eastern Illinois Foodbank and the Catholic Worker House?
* CWS coordinates efforts with dozens of international agencies to respond quickly & effectively to disasters such as tsunamis, hurricanes, or earthquakes?
* most importantly, you can help improve conditions for people around the world by participating in our local CROP Walk on May 2?

Volunteers will be in the narthex on April 11th, 18th, & 25th to sign you up to walk or contribute. We will still be accepting contributions on the day of the walk. Our goal this year is to have 30 walkers participate and raise $3000. We can do it!

You can also “Walk on the Web” by raising money or contributing to Grace’s walkers on line. Walkers can get a head start on collecting donations by visiting our Grace Lutheran Church team donation site and clicking the "Join a Group" link in the left hand menu.

For more information about this year’s CROP Walk, contact Cathy Digges at 344-5960 or cbdigges@comcast.net.

Altar Care
Altar Guild makes all necessary preparations for worship that center around the Altar. They prepare for communion and baptisms, place appropriate paraments on the Altar, polish and fill candles and the eternal light as needed, and clean/repair Altar linens. Currently, volunteers sign up for a month at a time, but this can be split as needed. Call Cathy Berschinski (356-6232) for more information.

Prayer Network
This group of people from the congregation pray for the concerns of our families, our community, our country, and our world. If you are interested in joining the Prayer Network or have a request for prayer, call the church office (356-6232).
